The Evolution Of Progress

Progress is always change but not all change is progress. Progress is made for a reason, an adaptation made to overcome a problem or improve upon an issue. To remain stagnant means that your problems remain stagnant. To go backwards means that you are only revisiting a situation that you have obviously outgrown. Fear not progress nor change but embrace it as a child embraces a brand new toy, for as sure as the sun rises there will be newer and better toys as they discard the old ones.

AGNOSTIC ANCIENT ALIENIST

When it comes to the issue of non belief vs those of religious faiths, I submit that the semantics involved pertaining to their underlying meaning can be misleading. In the vein of intellectual honesty we must all admit that both Theists ( Christian, Muslim, Hebrew, etc) is a word that describe a belief system, and Atheism is also a belief system or better yet, a non belief system. Belief or non-belief is the core feature in each, though the preponderance of the evidence or lack there of stacks up high in favor of the nonbeliever. Yet there is simply not enough real evidence to say that there is absolutely no god in any shape, form or fashion, ( see Ancient Aliens on the History Channel). I know of few Atheists who carry that position. When we say definitively that there is a god, that is a fantastic claim that cannot be supported by a shred of real evidence. Once again we come down to belief. There is no word that I'm aware of that describes a person or persons who know that there is or is not a god, because no such evidence exists, then no such adjective exists. The burden of proof always exists with the claimant, those who make the fantastic claims.

Anecdotal evidence is really no evidence at all, usually just personal and emotional statements made about one's own personal convictions based on their biased perceptions of their experiences. The "I know because I feel argument" does not provide proof nor does the anonymous literary works of ancient "holy ghost" writers. Since there is no evidence for such a being as described in these holy books, the logical persuasive argument has to be awarded to the Atheist or better yet the unrepresented In this conversation, the Agnostic, who honestly admits they he/she does not know.

For me, I am first an Atheist in that I do not believe in the preposterous gods of religion. However I'm not sure that the gods of religion could not have been ancient aliens, I have to admit that the History Channel makes a pretty convincing argument that this may have been the case, far more convincing than the Christian or Muslim argument in my view. Therefore I'm an Agnostic Ancient Alienist as well. Lol

Given the contradictions between science and religion, how do expect for our children to learn and excel in science when we teach them religion?
